For years, our knowledge about prehistory has been based on modest archaeological discoveries. The recent appearance of a Palaeolithic site of major proportions has changed FROM medium to medium this vision.


The dig of the cave and shelter of Benzu shows a human habitat which had the same lithic tools found across the Strait of Gibraltar.


Archaeologists have already given a timeline which runs between 100,000 and 250,000 years old, which will make our city to be included in many of the national and international prehistoric manuals. Without doubt we are facing one of the first intercontinental travels we know and whose protagonists chose the way our soil, as other peoples have continued doing in the coming centuries.
